Dreamed / imagined / created in Carmel Valley, California. Hand crafted / sustainably made in Peru.
We began our in-house line, Tejido, with the desire to create luxurious, ethical knitwear with 3 core values at the heart. Artisan, sustainable, handmade.
TEJIDO (teh.hee.doe), meaning fabric in the Spanish language, creates designs that respect the interwoven relationship between our heritage, our community, and the planet. At the heart of our brand, our designs weave together elements of the past, present, and future with the goal of promoting sustainable employment and preserving the indigenous traditions of handmade textiles.
We have the honor of working with master craftspeople and indigenous communities in Mexico and Peru, who weave our designs to life. Our collections include knitwear, hand loomed ponchos, and home textiles. Always made from ecologically mindful yarns and low impact or natural dyes.
Tejido Collective began as a marketplace to showcase and collaborate with like-minded artists and makers. Here, in our brick-and-mortar shops in Carmel Valley and Carmel by the Sea, as well as online, we feature one-of-a-kind arts pieces, small batch apothecary and wellness products, artisanal jewelry and so much more. Our collective space is one of community, kinship, self-care, love of the earth and moon and stars and the beauty we can create together.
